Bridget Kellyhas been one of my favorite voices for quite some time now, and today she released a new EP titled Cut to Bridget Kelly via Spotify. I’m telling you, this lil lady with a big voice is one that is going to take over.
Check out her new EP Cut to Bridget Kelly after the jump, which will be available for download on December 17th on Bridgetkelly.com!
SO. I had talked about producer/emcee Elite releasing a mix tape in the coming weeks, and Level Up came and went, accidentally slipping through my icy hands. (It’s pretty damn cold here in Reno at the moment.)
I received a friendly reminder that it had dropped by Elite today and made it a priority to sit down and take a listen without doing anything else. Personally when it comes to dudes like Elite, I like to give their projects the respect and undivided attention to really marinate in it mostly because I’ve already respected where they were coming from with previous work.
My favorite joints off of Elite’s Level Up were definitely Hoye Se Bebe, Do She Got A Friend Tho, She (Prolude), Fading, and Ghosts. Do She Got A Friend is going to sound pretty familiar if you know your production, and about a little song called Let Nas Down. Hoye Se BeBe honestly made me want to call up the homies and bring The Pulse back for one night as soon as the beat dropped.
The kid has something with this one though and if you missed it, I highly suggest you add this to your collection ASAP. I know, there wasn’t a stupid amount of hype over it but I feel like that’s mostly because Elite is one of those artists that will slowwwwly become someone you just have to pay attention to. It’s alright, I won’t say “I told you so” but instead “you’re welcome” like I have in the past.
Download Level Up, and check Elite’s description of the project after the jump!
Anytime I see someone doing exactly what they were put on this earth to do, it makes me happy for some reason. Watching Macklemore & Ryan Lewis bask in their success during their world tour with Buffalo David Bitton capturing their moments solidified the reason why I gave a great review of their album when I first heard it. These gentlemen are here to entertain and to change the face of music which is exactly what they have done. Take some time to check this out before the day is up.
If I could put into words how much I love this man, I would. Saying he means the world to me doesn’t do him enough justice for the family he’s raised, lives he’s changed with his kind heart and loving nature, and sacrifices he made for us to have a childhood with little to no worries. Dad I love you more than words can say, and I pray you wake up with the assurance that your family is forever thankful for everything you do.
I was VERY lucky to find a homie that would put together a mix for pops, Dj Rick Gee has quickly become one of my main go to dj’s that knows his music here in Reno. When I made the call initially I didn’t think he would do it but he came through in the clutch just in time for my dad’s day, which is today. When I listen to this, I think of my dad as a young boy in Oakland on his way to music practice, just enjoying the music…
