My dude Andreas Hale from TWV spoke with Rapper Big Pooh at SXSW, they graced a couple of topics from working with the newer generation artists, to becoming an A&R once he exits the stage in the future.Tweet
As always Bootleg Kev comes through with the great interviews and asks the questions we all want the answers to. peep his call-in with Kendrick Lamar. Hiiipower
So the homie Kendrick Lamar called up and checked in on Wednesday nights edition of R.E.D.Y. Set Radio. We spoke on a lot of different things including: His new single “The Recipe”, writing Dr. Dre’s verse for the record, his first session ever recording with Dre, how he is selecting the material to make the album, stuff that he has learned from being in the studio with Dre and Pharrell, the progression of Schoolboy Q as an artist, how he feels about Schoolboy Q not making the XXL Freshman cover, the possibility of working w/ Kanye, the Interlude on Drake’s album and the concept for it, having Gun Play on Cartoons and Cereal, and much more! Check it out after the jump! Much love to the whole TDE fam.
Before I was getting kicked out of the Slaughterhouse show for testing security (and taking a major L to my car) Slaughterhouse came through the station on their stop through Arizona, and we had a lot of talk OFF the music tip. The guys gave me some insight on what they were like in high school, what their priorities are when they step off the tour bus, and my boy Deongello asked the million dollar question if they would “smash or pass’ certain celebs and if there is any competition in the group.
Good times, good rappity rappers.Tweet
31 Minutes to Takeoff was one of my favorite albums to listen to when I wanted to zone out a little, and I got to talk with Mike Posner who swore to Jesus that we had met before but I didnt remember coming across him to save my life!
Then there was this huge misunderstanding that I didn’t want to interview him but that was totally not the case. The end result is this interview which turned out to be a great convo, about the direction of R&B, as well as who he is looking forward to working with in the near future.
All around great guy, make sure you look out for his upcoming project, Sky High and cop the track he produced for the Biebster.Tweet
Nardwuar interviews MGK at SXSW, his interviews are hands down some of my favorite… The ending though? Classic.Tweet
